DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

No.

I am an out-of-network provider meaning I do not accept any insurance. However, if you have out-of-network coverage you may be able to get reimbursed for your session by submitting an itemized receipt to your insurance that I am happy to provide to you.

I do accept cash, check, credit, Medical Reimbursement Accounts (MRA), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA) cards.

YOU ARE ON MY INSURANCE'S LIST OF PROVIDERS. ARE YOU SURE YOU DON'T ACCEPT INSURANCE? 

I do not accept ANY insurance at Motus Clinic.

I used to accept insurance at a clinic I worked at a few years ago and unfortunately the insurance companies don't update those lists frequently. I am probably still on some of them even though that is incorrect.  

WHY DON’T YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

Eliminating the insurance company allows me to work directly for the patient. Because the insurance company is not dictating care, I can spend more time with patients and we’re not limited in what we can do during the sessions. That means better quality care, more efficient treatment and accelerated recovery times for patients.

WHAT CONDITIONS CAN YOU HELP WITH?

I can help you with anything from shoulder, back, neck, jaw, elbow, wrist, finger, low back, hip, knee, ankle, foot. Tendinitis/tendinosis, muscle strains, sprains, joint pain, ligament tears, muscle tears, post operative rehab, repetitive strain injuries, labral tears, disc/spine injuries, impingement, and much more! If you’re not sure about any condition send me a message and I’ll let you know if I can help you or refer you to someone who can.

DO I NEED A PRESCRIPTION OR REFERRAL TO COME SEE YOU?

Nope.

SHOULD I GET AN X-RAY OR MRI BEFORE I SEE YOU?

No.

It’s probably not necessary as it will not change the course of treatment unless you are a candidate for surgery or have “red flag” symptoms which we can determine after an exam. Most rehab professionals can accurately diagnose the problem without imaging most of the time. I am able to write you a referral for imaging if we decide it’s necessary after exam.

SHOULD I SEE MY PRIMARY CARE DOCTOR OR AN ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON FIRST?

Probably not. I can refer you to an orthopedic surgeon (or other medical professional) for a second opinion if we decide that is necessary after a physical exam. 

ARE YOU A PT?

I am actually a licensed chiropractor. I am board certified for physiotherapy by NBCE and specialize in orthopedic sports medicine. Physiotherapy/rehab is within in my scope of practice. I have practiced much like a PT for the last 7 years using movement and exercise therapy as a treatment approach.

DO YOU WORK FOR MOTUS CLINIC?

No.

I am an independent contractor meaning that I have my own separate business and I work for myself. I rent space from Motus Clinic but I am not an employee of Motus. Because of this, any questions, phone calls, emails or faxes should be sent to me and not through them.  

DO YOU WORK AT ANY OTHER LOCATIONS?

No, I'm only at Motus Clinic.

Motus Clinic is in SOMA and close to Muni and BART lines. The clinic itself can be found on the ground floor in the courtyard next to Lee's Deli.

Parking available in building and we can validate for 1 hour. Close to Montgomery Street BART and several Muni lines.

Open Monday - Friday 1-8pm. Closed Weekends.
