Strength Training for Climbing Workshop!
Beginner Clinic Description:
This clinic will focus on 3 of the best “bang-for-your-buck” exercises, the squat, bench press and the deadlift. This clinic is safe and appropriate for climbers of all ages with no experience with training with barbells. Learn effective strength training for climbing. Training strength makes acquiring climbing skills easier, helps you recover more quickly from intense bouts of climbing, is a great injury reduction strategy and makes every move on the rock and every step you take with a heavy pack that much easier. Come prepared to do some lifting during the clinic. Flexible clothing and flat, non-cushioned shoes or squat shoes are recommended.
Intermediate Clinic Description:
This clinic is designed for climbers who have some experience with weight training. It will be similar to the beginner clinic but will be faster-paced with a focus on refining technique on the squat, bench press and deadlift. This clinic will go into detail on how to effectively incorporate/program these lifts into your climbing routine and will include a training template that’s appropriate for climbers looking to improve their strength. Climbers who take the beginner clinic can also sign up for this clinic if they are interested in learning more about programming strength training into their climbing. Come prepared to do some lifting during the clinic. Flexible clothing and flat, non-cushioned shoes or squat shoes are recommended.
